Accessibility and Accommodation Planning: Insights and Actions

Join us for a two-hour workshop during AccessAbility Week to envision more accessible learning environments at KPU!
In this session, KPU faculty will be encouraged to reflect on their current teaching practices related to accessibility and academic accommodations to identify both strengths and gaps in their current approaches. Additionally, faculty will engage in a visioning exercise to imagine an accessible KPU and consider what faculty are currently seeing and doing to create inclusive learning environments, and brainstorming ideas for further improvements.
Session Goals
- Discuss current practices related to accessibility and academic accommodations, highlighting successes and challenges.
- Engage in a visioning exercise to imagine an ideal accessible KPU, considering various aspects such as policies, accommodations, teaching methods, and technology use.
- Identify actionable steps that can be taken to enhance accessibility at KPU, based on shared experiences and ideas.
