Designing for Student Success PD Series Synchronous Learning Opportunity
June 23, 1:00-4:00PM, online, synchronous
Workshop description:
Open education resources are a mechanism to lower cost barriers for students.
Creating an Open Educational Resource (OER) doesn’t have to mean writing an entire textbook. In this half-day, hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the full potential of OERs—flexible, shareable teaching materials that can take many forms, from infographics and slide decks to short guides and beyond. You’ll have the opportunity to design a concise, subject relevant OER using ready-made templates, with time provided in the workshop to refine your work.
Whether you’re exploring OERs for the first time or looking to expand your approach, this workshop offers a supportive space to experiment, create, and collaborate with colleagues.
Through engaging in the activities and content of this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to
- A completed OER you can use and share
- A practical understanding of open licensing and publishing
- Tools and templates to support future OER projects
- Insight into how your work can contribute to the broader open education movement
