Ins<\/span>t<\/span>r<\/span>u<\/span>c<\/span>tors collect and work with a lot of <\/span>student<\/span> \u201cPersonal Information\u201d and many types of \u201c<\/span>re<\/span>cords<\/span>\u201d.<\/span>\u202f KPU (and its employees) have legal <\/span>re<\/span>qui<\/span>re<\/span>ments, as well as other <\/span>re<\/span>sponsibilities, in <\/span>re<\/span>l<\/span>ation to both.\u202f During this session, we will discuss what Personal Information is and how the information faculty members <\/span>encounter<\/span> in their teaching roles can lead to <\/span>diffe<\/span>re<\/span>nt kinds<\/span> of <\/span>re<\/span>cords. This session will help faculty members understand their legal <\/span>re<\/span>qui<\/span>re<\/span>ments and <\/span>re<\/span>sponsibilities, and<\/span> c<\/span>re<\/span>ate good habits that will pro<\/span>tec<\/span>t <\/span>pri<\/span>v<\/span>acy<\/span> and manage <\/span>re<\/span>cords appro<\/span>pri<\/span>ately.
